What parts of an image have information?

There are many elements in an image that can contain information.

The elements that appear drawn in an image provide very specific information, but there are more things that can contain information. A color, a space, a type of stroke, even a style can have information. It is not the same to represent the same action with a childish style than with a humorous style.

In order for information to fulfill its communicative function, it has to be understood. If it is not understood, it ceases to fulfill its function and begins to exert an opposite effect of disinformation that can generate doubts in the reader. This, which is really obvious, is a mistake I have made many times.

If I want to start communicating with images, the first thing has to be to analyze well what elements have information, what information they give and if they give it correctly.

As an illustrator, I have to worry about controlling the information I want to convey and find a way to make it understood.
