THE DRAGONS
CANNOT FLY
I have always wanted to
to be a dragon.
Perform unimaginable feats.
To be powerful.
And I've tried everything
the ways I have come up with.
I have failed in all of them.
I have never been able to fly.
I don't want to try anymore.
Dragons cannot fly.
It is true that sometimes they can perform great feats.
But if they do, it's not flying.
It's down to earth.
Laughing,
loving,
suffering
and crying.
But all along the way,
I have discovered something about myself.
I like to build wings.
Not to fly, which I know I cannot.
It's that building wings, it makes me fly.
And when I see them finished,
I feel as powerful as a dragon.
