What questions should I ask myself?

What do I have to ask myself? Historically, I've been concerned with questions like, how do you prepare a portfolio? How to submit a project to a publisher? How to get followers on social media? or how to reach customers? These are all questions about selling something.

At the point I'm at now, all those questions are meaningless. The questions have to try to shed light on that black ocean that forms my ignorance about the image. I can't try to sell something I don't believe in, and I can't believe in something that seems incomplete to me on formal and content levels.
I have to ask myself the questions about the doubts that I take for granted, but I don't know how to answer.
